More than 10,000 items can be called up
A tour of the Distribution Center in Darmstadt shows how flexibly it can respond to the customers’ wishes: 10,000 items in seven different warehouse areas are waiting to be shipped to destinations worldwide. Small containers holding between 30 and 5000 milliliters, as well as drums and “big packs,” are ready to be loaded. These goods include chemicals in a wide range of different hazardous material classes — from liquid crystals to fine chemicals and compounds used by the pharmaceutical industry. “In the refrigerated storage area we keep products in the temperature classes from 12 to 15 degrees Celsius and from two to eight degrees Celsius. Very sensitive products are kept at -20 degrees Celsius in dry ice storage.”
The Distribution unit has recorded ongoing growth in recent years. With its modern technical equipment the Distribution Center is providing an important basis for the further development of the entire company. “So far we have recorded significant double-digit percentage increases in volume at the Distribution Center in several segments,” Markus Kippel is pleased to report, with an optimistic eye to the future.
